Barbara Chronowski

Barbara Chronowski specializes in the introduction of techniques necessary to do business in the global marketplace to excel in today's international society through the application of International Excellence®: Breakthrough Strategies for Personal and Professional Success seminars. She is a popular presenter and instructor for U.S. companies, drawing on 20 years of experience as a cross-cultural consultant and trainer, as well as her extensive knowledge of Russia and Eastern Europe.

She has also lectured on Western marketing principles and business topics at various worldwide institutions including the prestigious Moscow Institute for International Relations, and has facilitated training workshops on modern business practices throughout the United States.

In 1995-96 she was Director of a high technology business development network, which focused on analyzing and recommending market applications for emerging technologies. This position required opening, staffing and running a local office, as well as developing training programs with local government support, which required her to perform cultural liaison duties for high ranking dignitaries including General Colin Powell and his entourage.

Ms. Chronowski has a Masters Degree in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with an emphasis on Soviet Studies and East-West trade. She speaks fluent Russian and Polish and has intensive language training from the Pushkin Institute of Foreign Languages in Moscow, the University of Krakow, Poland and additionally acquired Russian Business negotiation and in-depth east-west trade strategies skills at Bryn Mawr College. She is the author of the introduction and compiler of business acronyms for the western edition of the Russian-English Business Dictionary (Wiley & Sons, 1993).

Michael E. Robinson, Ph.D.

Michael Robinson is a consultant, teacher and trainer who focuses on the Korean culture and helping Americans who are seeking to increase the effectiveness of their activities in Korea. He speaks Korean, having lived there for six years and having visited the country on a semi-yearly basis for the past 25 years.

His Consulting Activities include "Marketing in the Korean Community" a Marketing Research Report for Security Pacific National Bank; Coordination and Design of Bi-lingual Brochures on Customer Services and Small Business Services also for Security Pacific; Expert Witness Testimony; Cultural Advisor to the Director, Korean Cultural Service, Ministry of Culture and Information, Los Angeles Branch; Faculty, Ford Executive Development Center, and Program on Korean Business Associations.

Dr. Robinson has also been a Consulting Planner for IBEAR, at the University of Southern California's School of Business Administration, Summer Institute on Business in East Asia; and continues to be a popular speaker on "Doing Business in Korea" at USC's Asia Pacific Business Conference and their other management programs.

Dr. Robinson's background includes extensive study of Korea from many perspectives. He received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Washington with a concentration on East Asia History and a specialization in modern Korean history. He has received grants from the Korea Foundation, the Association of Asian Studies, the Committee for Korean Studies and a Fulbright Research Fellowship. Currently at Indiana University, he is past Chair of the Korean Studies Committee at the East Asia Studies Center of the University of Southern California.

His publications include Korea Old and New: A History (Harvard University Press) and Cultural Nationalism in Colonial Korea (University of Washington Press). His articles include Modern Korea, Central Themes in Korean History, and Mass Media and Popular Culture in Korea. He has spoken on Developing the Korean Studies Field at the First International Conference on Korean Studies in the Americas; on Korean Popular Culture at the Asia Society of New York and the Center of Korean Studies at UCLA; and on the Origins of Korean Popular Culture at the Asia Society of New York.

Rudy Fernandez

Rudy Fernandez is a fully bi-lingual and bi-cultural facilitator with 30 years of international cross- cultural business experience. With a degree in Business Administration, Mr. Fernandez worked with Deloitte & Touche accounting firm for 21 years. For four of those years he served as the Technical Center Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. In 1987 he founded and served as the Managing Partner of the Deloitte & Touche office in Tijuana, Mexico, which was a joint venture between the US, Japanese and Mexican Deloitte & Touche firms. In four years it became the largest accounting firm in the Tijuana region, offering consulting services to Mexican, American and Japanese companies.

Mr. Fernandez's most recent activities have included serving as the Director of the Governor's Office of California-Mexico Affairs where he developed the NAFTA Implementation Plan called "Globalization of the Region." In this capacity he was involved in international activities and initiatives on behalf of the Governor of California, engaging at the highest level with Mexican officials in Mexico.

Mr. Fernandez is the author of Maquiladoras: On the Leading Edge of a Two Edged Sword (1987 Touche Ross) and of various articles on cross-borders issues. In the course of his career, he has been honored by the National Security Forum; awarded the Mexican and American Foundation's Amigo de Baja California and Caballero de Distincion; and has twice been named to the 100 Most Influential Hispanics list by Hispanic Business Magazine.

Sharjeel A. Moutier

Sharjeel Moutier is an accomplished intercultural trainer and coach, with business and financial experience as a consultant and analyst. His tri-cultural background as a French national raised in the Middle East Gulf with roots and origins from India, is complemented by his cross-cultural communication and multi-lingual abilities (English, French, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu). These aid his facilitation of executive training seminars to global organizations determined to increase their business effectiveness in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Mr. Moutier has degrees in Business Administration, Finance, and Marketing, and working experience in venture capital, financial online training, and design and development of academic programs. This breadth of experience has been matched by the wide span of the globe over which he has worked.

Over the years Mr. Moutier has dedicated his energy to developing and delivering first rate programs on Middle Eastern Country-Specific Programs by incorporating up-to-date information in all areas of Negotiation, Interpersonal Skill Building, and Working and Partnering with Muslim / Arab Countries.

In recent years, Mr. Moutier has designed numerous dynamic programs designed to address the growing global corporate need to create successful outsourcing operations in India. These include: Doing Business and Negotiating Successfully with Indians, Effective Management of Indian Teams / Working with Indians, Virtual Collaboration with Indian Colleagues, and Running Joint Venture Operations in India.

In the nature of a global nomad, Mr. Moutier provides services to a diverse worldwide audience to include such countries as the USA, Australia, Singapore, Russia, India, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Bahrain, Denmark and France.

Maya Hu-Chan

Maya Hu-Chan is an international management consultant, executive coach and author specializing in cross-cultural management and global leadership.  Charismatic and engaging, she has trained and coached thousands of leaders from major corporations throughout North America, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and Europe.  

Ms. Hu-Chan works with clients in such areas as building global business skills, multicultural teambuilding, virtual communication, and understanding Asia Pacific cultures. Participants in her training programs include Americans working overseas, Americans working with people from other countries, and people from different countries who are working in the United States or who are working in global teams.

Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Maya is fluent in Chinese and English.  She received her B.A. in Journalism and Business from National Chengchi University in Taiwan, and Master’s degree in Communications from University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her consulting career, Maya was an anchor for the China Broadcasting Company in Taiwan, and the CEO of a non-profit organization in San Diego, California.
