Subject: Japan results - thanks for your help.
Dear Diana,
You may not remember me, but I certainly recall you - I attended the seminar International Excellence® - Japan program at the USC program back in June of 2001.
One year later, and our business in Japan is 'bucking the trend' in the difficult economic times in Japan. We are growing in both revenue and profit in a challenging market segment. I attribute much of our success to the skills learned at your seminar. Although we had experience working in Japan and I had previously worked for a Japanese company, your seminar allowed me to 'formalize' my understanding of the business culture, which permitted me to 'internalize' many of the 'thoughts and actions' required to be truly successful in Japan.
Before your seminar, I thought we were doing 'good business' in Japan. However, by utilizing the information and techniques learned in your seminar, we are seeing significant improvements to our bottom line. While our US competitors are 'closing shop' because of a decline in sales and profits, we have been able to maintain and build our business. Last week, while enjoying an Asahi with the Managing Director of our largest customer (whom I now consider a true friend), he mentioned that "...business with your company is same as doing business with Japanese company." Upon hearing this, I thought, "Domo arigatoo gozaimasu, Diana-san."
In any case, I thought you might like to know that your efforts have had a direct and positive impact on my company (and on my position in the company).
Again, thank you very much for facilitating one of the most effective seminars I have had the pleasure to be a part of. I wish you all the best for continued success, and hope to meet with you again someday.
Kindest regards,
Ronn Cort (Now President and COO of SEKISUI SPI)
