2022 Year of the Tiger

According to tradition, the Tiger is the third of the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs. On February 1, 2022 (by the Chinese calendar year 4708) we begin a new 12 year cycle.

This Year of the Tiger is expected to be a rugged run through the jungle.

BUSINESS PREDICTIONS FOR THE TIGER YEAR: This Year of the Tiger portends to be filled with fierce challenges and change. A resounding tiger roar sweeps in mammoth transformations in multiple arenas: social, business, and political - but not necessarily without a fight! Tempers may flare all around making it a trying time for diplomacy, friendships, joint ventures, and deals requiring trust and cooperation. However, failed plans and ideas from the past can now be infused with new vitality and drive.

For the Tiger, the pursuit begins on the spur of the moment with an explosive surge of energy, accelerating in leaps and bounds. Well-thought-out plans, born of deep contemplation, may be tossed aside by the desire to impatiently conquer the prey. The lure of new, bold, even highly controversial ideas start off an impulsive chase -- but be aware that in the gamble of high stakes, fortunes can be won and lost. It is the Tigers' forceful and overpowering nature, thriving on chance and unpredictability, that captures the prize. Should a moment of perceived weakness be detected, others will take this opportunity to pounce, so it is not a year to exhibit timidity, hesitancy or faint-heartedness. Rising to the challenge of the Year of the Tiger, we develop strength, astuteness and alertness. As our fighting spirit peaks, real difficulties can be overcome; it is only the imaginary ones that are unconquerable!

PEOPLE BORN IN THE YEAR OF THE TIGER (1926, 1938, 1950, 19621, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022) tend to be clever and take time to think through a strategy before deciding on a plan of attack. Respected by others for their power and bold action,it is their dignity and decency that endears them. Perhaps just short of generous, they are very willing to share their catch and even their den. Tiger people are known for their great love of adventure and have a hard time passing up a challenge, especially if there is an element of excitement and a chance for unexpected opportunities. These qualities, coupled with a competitive nature, incite the Tiger to pursue advancement. Others tend to follow, knowing the Tiger has caught a scent and will eventually share a part of the take. In this sense they are natural leaders. In spite of a propensity to plan ahead, a degree of impatience can cause them to be unpredictable. This, in addition to an infrequent but fierce short temper, limits their ability to be good managers. Once at the highest vantage point, if no other conquests appear on the horizon, the Tiger may move on to a new quest.

It's the chase that excites them. And when a new desired trophy appears, they pounce, making them appear impulsive. And indeed they can be, whether buying an item or springing into action, this spontaneity seems a contradiction to their careful, shrewd nature. At home, the Tiger makes a good parent, nurturing and teaching the cubs with conscientious dedication. As partners, they are loyal, trustworthy, amorous, and passionate, but tend to dominate. So, remember, the Tiger likes a challenge, and if you boldly confront them every so often, you"ll gain their respect.

Eisenhower, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne of Great Britain, Simon Bolívar, Will Greer, Giscard D'Estaing, St. Francis Xavier, Ludwig van Beethoven, Alec Guiness, Pierre Balmain, Karl Marx, Emily Brontë, Isadora Duncan, Rudolf Nureyev.
