Maya Hu-Chan

Maya Hu-Chan is an international management consultant, executive coach and author specializing in cross-cultural management and global leadership.  Charismatic and engaging, she has trained and coached thousands of leaders from major corporations throughout North America, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and Europe.  

Ms. Hu-Chan works with clients in such areas as building global business skills, multicultural teambuilding, virtual communication, and understanding Asia Pacific cultures. Participants in her training programs include Americans working overseas, Americans working with people from other countries, and people from different countries who are working in the United States or who are working in global teams.

Ranked Top 8 Global Solutions Thinkers by Thinkers50, World Top 30 Leadership Gurus, and Top 100 Thought Leaders in Management & Leadership by Leadership Excellence, Ms. Hu-Chan is a popular keynote speaker and dynamic trainer.  She has lectured at the Brookings Institution, University of California, San Diego, University of Chicago, University of Southern California, and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.  She is an Advisor of President’s Leadership Advisory Council for the World Bank and Founding Member and Master Coach of the Marshall Goldsmith Group.

Harvard Business School chose her book, Global Leadership: The Next Generation to be one of their Working Knowledge recommended books. In addition, she is a frequent contributor and interviewee to a wide range of business publications and media, including Inc.com, BusinessWeek, Harvard Business Online, Bloomberg, OD Practitioner, Leadership Excellence, Thinkers50, American Management Association (AMA), Business Coaching Worldwide, SmartBrief on Leadership, Voice America, Asia Media, The Human Factor Magazine (India), AthenaOnline, and ATD Management Blog.  She is a contributing author of 10 business books.

Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Maya is fluent in Chinese and English.  She received her B.A. in Journalism and Business from National Chengchi University in Taiwan, and Master’s degree in Communications from University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her consulting career, Maya was an anchor for the China Broadcasting Company in Taiwan, and the CEO of a non-profit organization in San Diego, California.
